Casper Ruud defeats Zverev to reach French Open final

Ruud ends Zverev's run with impressive straight-sets victory

Ruud will face Djokovic in Sunday's final

Casper Ruud has reached his first Grand Slam final after defeating Alexander Zverev in the semifinals of the French Open on Friday. The Norwegian won 6-3, 6-4, 6-0 in straight sets.

Zverev, who was aiming to reach his second major final, had won the first set of the match, but Ruud fought back to win the next two sets and take a 2-1 lead. The German was then forced to retire with an ankle injury at the start of the fourth set.

Ruud will now face Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final. The Serb is bidding to win his 21st Grand Slam title, which would take him one clear of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Ruud is the first Norwegian man to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament. He has been in impressive form throughout the tournament, and will be hoping to cause an upset against Djokovic on Sunday.
