Bader's 2 Hits Help Mets Extend Win Streak to 5
Mets Win 5th Straight
Harrison Bader had a double and a home run as the New York Mets extended their winning streak to five games with a 6-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.
Bader's solo homer in the fourth inning gave the Mets a 2-0 lead. The Pirates tied the game in the fifth on a home run by Tucupita Marcano, but the Mets regained the lead in the sixth on a two-run single by Eduardo Escobar.
Bader's double in the seventh inning drove in another run, and the Mets added another run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Nimmo.
Chris Bassitt pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Mets, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks. He struck out seven batters.
The Mets bullpen did not allow a hit in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
The Pirates have lost five straight games.
